GOING HOME IS SUCH A RIDE
This work is a take on the mechanical bull, where instead of an electric machine of a bull, the saddle (bull) needs to be manually pulled by people.

HOLD MY HAND
Artist Iza Štrumbelj Oblak struggles to keep up with her master’s studies. She asks artists Lea Topolovec and Yana Deliyska to help her graduate.
Blurring the lines between the project’s narrative and real life, they engage in a family roleplay. Lea as mom and Yana as dad become guiding figues for their off-track child, Izi.

KARAOKE HARMONIES
Karaoke Harmonies is the act of two people in close proximity to one another singing two different songs at the same time until the completion of both songs. As a social performance in Göteborgs Konsthall visitors were invited in pairs to walk onto the stage and pick two different songs to perform at the same time.

THE LOCKER ROOM
In autumn 2022 seven artists came together to build the Migrant Sauna in a workshop facilitated by artist Pablo Encinas Alonso. The much anticipated sauna experience failed to deliver as the sauna itself could not reach the appropriate temperature. In February 2023, Alva Qi Törnqvist and I as two of the participating artists in the workshop borrowed the physical structure of the sauna from Pablo in order to rebuild it and use it. We invited people to a gallery space where they could change into a swimsuit and wait for the sauna to warm up.

THE TABLE READ
A performance set as a table read of a play. An element of the script is the character of ONESELF which is a placeholder for every member of the audience and an invitation for them to perform to the script alongside the table read.

Collective practices
ILY
The ILY collective (Iza Štrumbelj Oblak, Lea Topolovec, and Yana Deliyska) is united by our interest in art as a space for encounter, exchange, and the formation of temporary communities.
Our collaborative artistic practice, disseminated under the title HOLD MY HAND, operates as an ongoing artistic research into relationality. By allowing for personal and collective challenges to be rehearsed, displaced and reimagined through a family roleplay, fiction becomes a methodological approach for engaging with reality.
Exhibited at Speculative Gatherings, Slakthuset, Gothenburg (2024), at the 6th Triennial of Young Artists at the Center for Contemporary Arts, Celje (2025), and at Friends With Benefits, Ljubljana, Škuc(2026).
